Main purpose of the job
- To provide strategic direction, Business Development and marketing management at IBS Bank.
- Develop a full understanding of the IBS brand and market positioning.
- Identify current and future marketing and business development trends, devising proactive plans to exploit and manage emerging business trends and advise management on new business opportunities.
- Provide regular insight into actual and potential IBS market opportunities, with reference to IBS own strengths and weaknesses, and strategic direction
- Market IBS banking products to new/existing Bank customers and provide data to facilitate expansion of the client base.
Key responsibilities:
- Carry out market research and maintain appropriate market data, from both external and internal sources to establish opportunities, market needs for financial services and competition among other factors while tracking the performance of IBS products including profitability.
- Develop Product development manuals, policies and guidelines and maintain a full catalogue of the products and acquire for the Bank’s use appropriate marketing tools.
- Constantly develop products and market plans that will grow the Bank’s business and market share to achieve and exceed the set goals at acceptable cost levels in conjunction with the divisions directly involved with customers taking into account any other suggestions and the divisions own initiatives.
- Fully train and create awareness of products among staff directly and indirectly involved with customers
- Develop effective market communication plans and execute the same to produce maximum and expected impact.
- Maintain and ensure that the communication channels with customers contain correct and up to date information and are fully active particularly the social media platforms with bank constantly engaged in the discussions with quick responses and continuous analysis of the information to obtain maximum benefits.
- Attract, develop, train and retain good personnel.
- Achieve organizational and divisional, annual and long term goals.
- Set and monitor customer service standards that adequately support the achievement of the Bank’s goals.
- Devise, manage and support the Bank’s PR efforts.
- Create, identify, describe and communicate an approved set of the standards and elements of IBS Brand and be responsible for IBS Image in terms of detail requirements and standards of best bank status as well as compliance in all aspects of IBS business.
- Handling any other role that may be assigned by management from time to time in the course of duty.
Human Resources Management:
- Liaison with the Bank’s Human Resources Head in co–coordinating staff appraisal programmes and overall supervision of staff to ensure that business targets of the Department are achieved.
- Prepares and manages Department’s establishment, staff cost, and budgets to ensure that they are within the overall budget.
- Identify in liaison with the Human Resources Head appropriate on the job training and development programmes and to act as internal resources development for staff being supervised.
- Assessing manpower requirements in the form of well-structured operations, job descriptions and manning levels in the department.
- Build HR resources to meet Department Objectives.
- Efficient leave management.
- Improve employee satisfaction and regular performance appraisals.
- Develop staff skills and Training.

Important relationships
- Job is both internally and externally focussed, requiring that the individual be highly adaptable in terms of personal style and the development of business knowledge related to banking.
- The job requires relationships be built across the bank at senior level.
- The jobholder will develop and nurture an external network of relationships.
- The job requires external relationships be maintained with market research companies, marketing companies, press and associated PR communication channels
- The incumbent will have supervisory responsibility with respect to market development for the on all matters of a strategic nature, marketing management and performance reporting. He/she will request input and/or participation from the Market Support to deliver bank reports and evaluations. The initial requirements will be directed through the CEO but, once established.
- Appropriate regional and cross country forums will require participation to ensure teambuilding and sharing of best practice across the organisation.
